A child in need is going without someone who can bring them hope.
While every case is different, all cases have similarities; families in crisis, babies left behind, parents distracted by drug dependencies, legacies of neglect, and multigenerational abuse. CASA volunteers enter these little broken lives with the full backing of the CASA office, to secure the best possible services and sustaining supports available.
Recently a father sent a note to the CASA volunteer on his son's case saying, "I want to thank you for being the man in my son's life that was missing when I was not able to be."
However, the practical aspects of CASA services cannot be ignored or minimized. There are daunting expenses associated with this commitment to the children served as well as the cases that will appear tomorrow. Last year, it cost the CASA office slightly more than $3,185 to advocate for one child for one year.
I hope that you will consider donating to First Circuit CASA.
